There’s nothing like an in-person visit, and last week we had the pleasure of hosting our London South Bank University (LSBU) colleagues for a two-day visit to our Dublin office. From discussions on AI and reflections on our inaugural Master’s research projects to forward-looking conversations about expanding the programme’s global reach, it was an inspiring and energising experience for all involved.
Academic Dean Mandy Maidment and Head of Global Partnerships Aissata Edmomdson were in attendance, joined by colleagues from operations and partnerships. The iheed team, Clodagh Conway, Director of Academic Affairs, Ian Roe, Head of Education and Claire Ryan, Programme Manager were also joined at various stages by colleagues from student recruitment, admissions and marketing.
The visit kicked off on Wednesday with some productive and illuminating meetings focused on the Master’s in Mental Health Nursing. We discussed the excellent work both iheed and LSBU are doing to champion this important area and reflected on how the programme continues to attract a truly global student population. This year will see the graduation of our first group of students – the programme attracts approximately 120 Master’s students in Mental Health Nursing annually.
We had some great conversations about how we see the LSBU–iheed partnership evolving to further support this valued professional group. The day wrapped up with an enjoyable evening in Dublin – sunshine, good company, and a few sights taken in along the way.
On Thursday, we were joined online by additional colleagues for our Programme Management Board meeting. Again, some fantastic conversations around the strategic direction of the programme and the partnership.
The visit concluded with a lovely lunch at the Elephant and Castle (who knew there was one in Dublin too?), and we’re already looking forward to a return trip to the LSBU campus – hopefully in time for graduation.
Thanks to everyone who helped make it such a memorable visit.
