David Cecil Hill


David has worked in research and academia for the past ten years and is currently completing a PhD in Public Health at the University of Toronto in Canada. His research and teaching portfolio focuses on how global economic and political forces, particularly labour relations, shape health locally in Latin America, as well as grassroots solidarity networks countering neoliberal capitalism. He has worked as a research coordinator on several projects exploring migration status as a determinant of health equity in Latin America and has published in academic journals such as The Lancet Global Health, Global Public Health, and Migration and Health. His doctoral dissertation – funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council in Canada – explores how co-operatives responded to member and community needs amid COVID-19 in Costa Rica.
