Infectious diseases (ID) are some of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality globally, with two-thirds of the deaths of children under five years of age being caused by infectious diseases. The prevention and treatment of infections is a priority for global health. Malaria, Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS continue to contribute significantly to the global burden of disease and in addition to the SARS -COV2 pandemic, the focus on the prevention and management of ID is at its greatest.
