Jacqueline Sears

Jacqueline Sears is a nurse and clinical research professional with over 30 years of experience in healthcare, leadership, and workforce development. She is passionate about helping students develop confidence, curiosity, and practical skills in clinical research, while creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. Her career has taken her from front-line nursing to senior leadership roles, including Clinical Research Matron at University Hospitals of North Midlands and over a decade with the NIHR Clinical Research Network. Jacqueline has led teams, supported principal investigators, and mentored research staff across the West Midlands. As a Professional Nurse Advocate and Training Facilitator, she has also delivered engaging workshops on ICH GCP reflection, resilience, and leadership - blending academic insight with hands-on experience. Jacqueline has co-authored publications on research training and workforce development and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Research, alongside Professional Nurse Advocate and clinical supervision qualifications. Outside of research, Jacqueline trained as a florist, completing her qualification just as the COVID-19 pandemic began. She enjoys cooking (and experimenting in the kitchen), has a lifelong love of anything equestrian, and treasures time with her family. Most importantly, she enjoys spoiling her ageing dog, Bilbo, with treats and gentle walks.
