Aaron Doherty

Aaron graduated from University College Cork with MBBChBAO(Hons) in 2013 . He obtained MRCPI in general medicine in 2015, and FRCPath(UK) in Clinical Microbiology in 2020, completing higher specialist training in clinical microbiology 2022. He is currently appointed clinical lecturer with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, and is completing a research MD in the area of novel anti-infective agents, after which he is due to take up post as consultant clinical microbiologist at Cork University Hospital. Aaron has experience working in adult and paediatric centres, as well as the National Virus Reference Laboratory, and has experience in the area of managing transplant, cardiothoracic and neurosurgical related infections.
