Dr. Naureen Yasir
Dr. Naureen Yasir is a senior clinician and educator in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, currently serving as an Educational Fellow at the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI). With over 20 years of international clinical experience across Pakistan, Qatar, and Ireland, she has cultivated a robust academic profile with a strong emphasis on teaching, mentorship, and educational research.
Dr. Yasir has held the role of Clinical Tutor Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 2019 to 2024, where she was responsible for mentoring undergraduate medical students, postgraduate trainees, and midwifery staff across multiple Irish teaching hospitals. Her mentorship has extended to guiding junior doctors through clinical rotations, supporting international medical graduates, and contributing to structured induction and orientation programs.
She is a PRES Examiner for the Irish Medical Council (since 2022), playing a key role in assessing clinical competencies of international candidates entering the Irish healthcare system. Since 2023, she has also served as a tutor for the RCPI Professional Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, delivering postgraduate education and supporting learners in achieving academic and clinical excellence.
Her current research and quality improvement interests focus on medical education, with recent projects including, Evaluation of clinical placement experiences using the Manchester Clinical Placement Index, Blended learning satisfaction surveys among medical students and Post-pandemic re-audits on clinical education quality at Cork University Maternity Hospital.
Dr. Yasir has presented her work at national forums including JOGS Ireland, RCSI global health symposium, contributing both oral and poster presentations on educational innovation, student feedback, and curriculum development.
Her academic contributions reflect a deep commitment to fostering learner development, enhancing clinical education environments, and integrating evidence-based improvements into teaching practice. She continues to pursue excellence in both clinical care and academic leadership, with future goals including specialist registration and further fellowship training in obstetric medicine and gynaecological surgery.
