Dr Richard Priore

Dr. Richard (Rich) Priore is a leading expert on health system transformation and leader development. The intersection of his industry and academic backgrounds lends practitioner insight with an evidence-based management perspective. His leadership experience spans 30 years in the investor-owned, not-for-profit, and government healthcare sectors with senior executive roles in integrated and academic health systems, physician-owned specialty hospitals, complex clinical service lines, and large multispecialty group practices. He was the CEO for several investor-owned hospitals and a hospital turnaround expert for the Hunter Group.
Rich is a Clinical Associate Professor in Department of Health Policy and Management for the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University instructing graduate-level courses in Healthcare Financial Management, Health Economics, and Quality Management.
Rich is a frequent speaker and educator for leading healthcare organizations, Fortune 500 companies, and professional associations. He served as core faculty for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL), providing executive-level courses to improve leadership decision-making in the business of health care.
Rich is the Founder and CEO of Excelsior HealthCare Group, an international change management consulting firm specializing in integrating competency-based learning through practical education and training with measurable and sustainable performance improvement.
Dr. Priore earned a Doctorate in Health Systems Management from Tulane University and a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Baylor University. He is board certified in healthcare management and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
Rich is a U.S. Army veteran with tours of duty in Europe, Southeast Asia, and Washington, DC, where he served in the White House under two Administrations. He is a volunteer first responder in the National Ski Patrol.
