Giampiero Favato
Prof. Giampiero Favato is Director of Postgraduate Research, Faculty of Business and Science (FBSS) at Kingston University London. His area of research is valuation under uncertainty and its applications to Health Economics, with a specific focus on the impact of HPV vaccination policies on Public Health.
Giampiero’s research was included in the Kingston University 2014 REF submission as an impact case study, titled “Policy change on male HPV vaccination in Italy”. The impact case was published by the Association of Business Schools (ABS) to showcase the economic and social benefits stemming from business research. In addition, Giampiero’s research will be included in the Kingston University 2020 REF submission as an impact case, titled “Protect our boys against human papillomavirus (HPV) infection”.
Giampiero is currently actively engaged in teaching the following modules at Graduate and Postgraduate level:
Financial Management
Corporate Finance
Principles of Health Economics;
Systematic Literature Review.
He supervises three doctoral students at different stages of their learning journey.
In 2009, he was the recipient of the University of Reading School Award for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Learning. The award acknowledged the impact of a novel teaching method on the learning of Accounting principles.
The challenge was to transform the consolidated rote learning into a meaningful learning of Management Accounting, moving away from mnemonic repetitions to allow learners to connect their existing knowledge to the subject being learned. This early work led to the development of a conceptual framework, “The driver’s view”, which earned the first of his twelve copyrights in Education.
