Barbara Coen

Barbara has over 25 years’ experience managing business critical projects across a variety of industry sectors including IT, e-learning, publishing, banking & insurance.

She has a strong IT background in all aspects of product development from conception to user experience, creative and instructional design, engineering, QA and release management.

As Director of Programme Management at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Barbara focused on developing innovative educational solutions that leveraged the latest technology.

She was instrumental in developing a number of highly interactive and engaging mobile apps in the K-12 market for tablet and smartphone devices.

Barbara is also well versed in all aspects of project, programme and process management, and has provided consulting and mentoring support in these disciplines throughout her career to organisations such as Microsoft, Dell, Viacom, Chase Manhattan Bank, KPMG, Fidelity Investments, Merrill Lynch and GTE.

Barbara has lived and worked in Ireland, England and the United States. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Computer Applications from Dublin City University.
