Terms & Conditions Professional Diploma in Paediatrics Bridging Programme

Purpose  

a)      The Learner is an alumni of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) Diploma in Paediatrics who wishes to enrol on the bridging programme towards the RCPI Professional Diploma in Paediatrics (hereinafter referred to as “the Programme”) in order to enhance their knowledge and proficiency in the treatment of paediatric patients. 

b)     For the purpose of receiving this education, the Learner has requested iheed and RCPI to accept them as a Learner for the duration of their Programme (herein referred to as “the Term”) 

c)      The Programme is validated by the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI), and successful Learners will receive a Professional Diploma in Paediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. 

1. The Learner agrees the following with RCPI and iheed:  

i.    Governing Regulations: It is a condition of enrolment that the education and financial policies of iheed and RCPI, during the contract term, are incorporated as part of the terms of their enrolment, and the Learner agrees to be bound by these rules. Any changes will be made following a process of consultation and will be communicated to the Learner by iheed. 

ii.  Commitment: The Learner will at all times during the contract term, truly, honestly and diligently engage with the Programme as may be directed by RCPI and iheed. 

iii. Payment of Fees: The Learner will ensure fees due to iheed in respect of the Programme are paid on time and in full according to the published schedule. The Learner acknowledges that non-payment of fees may result in withdrawal of Programme access or termination from the Programme as determined by RCPI and iheed. 

iv. Recording and Broadcast of the programme: Elements of the Programme may be broadcast live on the internet, or recorded for subsequent broadcast. The Learner grants unto iheed the sole and exclusive license to record and broadcast video and audio, capture of the images, works and performances of the Learner, without exception or restriction, as they may relate to engagement with the Programme. There shall be no direct or indirect fee or any other form of consideration owed byiheed to the Learner for the license granted to it pursuant to this Contract.  

v.  Data Protection: The Learner understands that RCPI andiheedwill share and process personal data and potentially sensitive data (as defined by the Data Protection Legislation) relating to them for the purposes of registering them on the Programme, administering the Programme and allowing for the issuance of awards on successful completion of the Programme. 

vi. Ethics: The Learner will observe and uphold the highest ethical, academic, and professional standards and will not do anything, nor engage in any activity, which may bring either RCPI, iheed, themselves or their profession into disrepute. 

2. RCPI and iheed agree the following with the Learner: 

i.    Provision of Education: RCPI and iheedwill provide a programme of education designed to offer the Learner the necessary academic support to succeed in programme assessment and examinations for the Contract term. 

ii.  Communication:  RCPI and iheedwill provide timely information on the Programme, including the Learner timetable, examination arrangements, and any specific requirements that may arise from time to time. iheed will provide clear channels by which Learners can communicate with Programme administration personnel. 

iii. Academic Expectation: RCPI and iheedwill provide clear guidance on the academic standard required to succeed in programme assessments and examinations. The Learner will receive clear assessment criteria and appropriate feedback to enable effective learning. 

  

General 

The Learner acknowledges the Programme is academic in nature. Neither RCPI nor iheed make any claim or provide any assurance that the Learner will gain clinical competence from completion of the Programme and RCPI and iheed will be under no liability howsoever arising in respect of same. 

The Programme is administered in Ireland in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland and will be governed by the laws of that country. The Learner accepts that any action, proceeding, dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to this Contract shall be governed by the law of Ireland and be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Ireland, and the Learner hereby submits to the jurisdiction of said courts.
